APADRAVYA PIERCING - MALE GENITAL

Apadravya Piercing is a popular male genital piercing. The most important things for a successful Apadravya piercing are the placement of the piercing and sizing of jewellery.

Apadravya piercing is usually placed through the top of the head of the penis, vertically to the under side of the penis. There are to ways to do this piercing. One way is to do the piercing all at once. The other way is to perform the piercing in two stages. This involves doing the Prince Albert piercing first, then once healed, continuing through with the Apadravya.

It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium and it is our recommendation to always use internally threaded barbells. Here at Totally Pierced we carry an extensive range of internally threaded barbells and barbell ends and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. Check out the Jewellery Facts page which explains the differences between internally and externally threaded jewellery.

Apadravya Aftercare and Healing Time

The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (two to three times a day for the first 14 days with a salt water solution), no oral contact, limited sexual activity, and to be careful not to knock the piercing.

During the first 3 to 6 months it is not unusual to experience some secretion from the piercing, as this is part of the healing process. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 3 months and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
