Lip Body Piercing

LIP PIERCING

Lip Piercing is a popular piercing with both men and women. The most important things for a successful Lip piercing are the placement of the piercing and the sizing of jewellery.

Lip piercing can be placed anywhere along the lip line. As this piercing can sometimes swell for the first few days, it is crucial initially not to have the ring too snug with the lip to allow for any swelling.

It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium. Here at Totally Pierced we carry an extensive range of lip jewellery and specialise in custom-made body jewellery.

Lip Aftercare and Healing Time

The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (twice a day on the outside of the lip for the first 14 days with an antiseptic solution that Totally Pierced provides), no oral contact, maintain good oral hygiene, and to be careful not to knock the piercing.

During the first 3 to 6 months it is not unusual to experience some secretion from the lip piercing, as this is part of the healing process. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 8 to 12 weeks and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
